Security and privacy
We measure the room. Never the person.
TOP sits by a player's bed, so we keep one rule: collect only what helps fix the room, and show it only to the people who need it.

Example reading. A row of numbers, many times a night. It also sends a few details about its signal and software, so we know it's working.
Never sent
- Audio
- Pictures or video
- Anything from the home wifi
There is no camera. Sound becomes one decibel number inside the sensor, and the audio itself is never stored or sent.
Who sees what. And who doesn't.
Your staff
On the dashboard.
The player
In the TOP app.
Other teams
Each team sees only its own bedrooms.
TOP
When you ask. Time-limited and logged.
Made for the player. Not just about them.
The data is about the room, and it is there to give the player a better night. These are our promises to every player.
- We never sell the data or use it for advertising.
- The player can see their own room in the TOP app.
- The player plugs the sensor in, and can unplug it any time.
- The player can ask for a copy of their data, or for it to be deleted.
How we protect it.
The sensor never joins the home wifi. Readings reach our servers over encrypted connections.
Each team's data is walled off from every other team, and automated tests check it on every change we make.
Available on every staff account, and required for TOP's own team.
Changes to teams and accounts are recorded, and the record can't be changed or deleted.
Your team's data is stored on servers in the United States.
Room data is deleted within 30 days after your contract ends, unless you export it first.
What teams ask us.
- Who controls the data?
- Your team does, and we handle it on your behalf. It's about the room, not the player, and the player can always see their own room and ask for a copy or for it to be deleted.
- Who on our staff can see it?
- Only the people your team invites. Every account needs its own sign-in, and two-step sign-in is available for all of them.
- What happens when a player leaves?
- Take the sensor back and hand it to the new player. The old nights stay with your team, and the player who left can still ask for them to be deleted. If a sensor ever goes to another team, that team starts with a clean history and never sees yours.
- What if something goes wrong?
- If we find a problem that affects your data, we tell you right away, so you can tell your players.
- Is TOP insured?
- Yes. We carry professional liability, cyber liability and general liability insurance, including product liability, each with at least USD 1 million of cover per claim. We send a certificate of insurance on request, and can name your team on our general liability policy.
- We're a team in Europe. Does that work?
- Yes. The data is stored in the United States, and transfers from Europe and the UK are covered by the safeguards GDPR requires, the EU's standard contractual clauses.
Questions from your legal or IT team?
We get them on every rollout, and we're happy to answer. Send them over and we'll get back to you quickly.
See it on real rooms. Bring your questions.
Thirty minutes with our team. We show you the live dashboard and walk through anything your staff, legal or IT team wants to know.
